First Presbyterian Church of Smyrna is a congregation which follows
the Reformed Faith as specified in the Book of Order, the Confessions of
the church, and in Scriptures. We welcome everyone to worship with us
(and do not demand perfection: none of us is perfect, but we come together
to worship God and to help one another and our community.)
The Smyrna church was given its charter in 1733 as Duck Creek Presbyterian
church, the charter coming from George II. It is the oldest congregation in
Smyrna. It has joined in the Confessing Church movement within the Presbyterian
Church, which simply affirms that we believe scripture to be more authoritative
in matters of the faith than the pronouncements of random people who claim
expertise.
